PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Sharx's poolroom was created in a 16,000ft² space previously occupied by a hardware store in the first basement of the Faubourg Ste-Catherine office tower. The space is accessed by a glass-railed escalator laid parallel to the bar, next to the main hall. The main hall is furnished with custom-designed coffee tables and chairs created especially for the project. From these spaces two large game rooms subdivided into smaller, more intimate zones, defined by integrated furniture, point lighting and exposed elements of the building's concrete structure and mechanical system. Clear-coated cold rolled steel was selected as the furniture's a concept material on service tables, lamps, bar, queue rests. A false ceiling covers the bar the bar, detailed in curved steel section frame with perforated steel sheets acting as light sieve. The antique warehouse doors from the old hardware store were re-used as restrooms doors.
