PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The vaults of the historical Grey Nuns of Montreal Motherhouse Chapel was completely renovated in 1995-96. The oak plank floors, wood benches in the knave as well as the granite pillar bases were restored to their original finishes. The dominant color of the columns and that of the decorative elements were refreshed. The powerful horizontal lines at the base of the glazed triforium level from which the vaults rise are emphasized to better underline the three-level Romanesque style architecture used as a model by the architect
