PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Research center of the University of Montreal and École Polytechnique to support the collaboration and cross-fertilization between disciplines including aerospace materials science, pharmaceutical technologies, biotechnologies, nanotechnology, nanosciences and polymer science. The 5-storey, 18 610 m² building is located between the U of M and of Polytechnique Main buildings. The volume of the laboratories occupies the center of the building space, surrounded on the North and West by office spaces distributed around an atrium receiving natural light from a continuous skylight.  Interior gardens are placed along broadly glazed exterior walls, crating meeting places for users.   The structure is built of reinforced concrete and its envelope consists of glass and brick masonry.
