Depuis sa fondation en 1957, la firme d’architectes Desnoyers Mercure et Associés a su établir sa grande renommée par la réalisation d’une multitude de projets d’envergure dans les secteurs institutionnel, industriel (hautes technologies et industrie lourde), commercial, récréatif, résidentiel et de la santé. L’apport novateur de la firme dans l’amélioration et l’évolution de l’environnement urbain et humain ainsi que son expertise unique en rénovation, réhabilitation, restauration et mise aux normes de bâtiments existants ou à caractère patrimonial, ont aussi contribué à l’établissement de cette réputation d’excellence à l’échelle tant nationale qu’internationale. La firme compte dans ses rangs près de trente-cinq personnes (architectes, technologues et soutien administratif) avec un ensemble d’expertises variées et complémentaires, lui permettant d’offrir une gamme complète de services allant de l’avant-projet à la mise en service. Desnoyers Mercure & associés (DMA) has been an active architectural and design practice since 1957, first located in St-Hyacinthe and in 1964, established in Montreal. Throughout our 50+ years of existence, the firm has undertaken architectural projects of all types, predominantly in the institutional sector as well as in the commercial, industrial, recreational, urban design, and residential sectors, while covering a wide range of varying scope. Our portfolio comprises several projects that have earned important awards and distinctions, such as the Vincent Massey Medal, the Canadian Architect Award of Excellence, Awards of Excellence and Mentions from the Quebec Order of Architects, the Prix Orange from Héritage Montreal, as well as several winning entries in national and international design competitions. The experience garnered from our achievements has also permitted the firm to develop a pro-active approach necessary for the success of contemporary projects and the ability to provide sophisticated feasibility and programming studies for major institutions. DMA has in particular, distinguished itself first as a pioneer in Montreal and since then, as a leader in the domain of existing structures' rehabilitation and adaptive re-use. Over and above the ability to respond to the purely technical requirements of the various and unique projects we undertook, our firm has developed a keen sense of responsiveness to both the context provided by existing building environments as well as to the owner's and occupant's needs.
